This is Vaughan Bullivant — many of you knew me as "Vitamin Vaughan." If you remember me, then you remember our journey.

We laughed together, we learned together, we fought together, and we stood shoulder to shoulder with one purpose — to help Australians and people around the world understand that better health begins with better choices.

For decades, we challenged old thinking. We educated families about vitamins, minerals, herbs and natural nutrition. We believed people deserved the freedom to make informed decisions about their own health.

For decades, I dedicated my life to educating Australia and people around the world about The Natural Way to Better Health & Longer Life.

I fought in the Sydney courts for days to defend three important freedoms:

• I fought to prevent vitamins from becoming available on prescription only, because I believed Australians and people around the world should have the freedom to access vitamins and herbal supplements easily. Because of that fight, millions of people have continued to have the choice to purchase vitamins and supplements directly from shelves, without first needing to visit a doctor and pay additional costs.

• I defended the freedom of every individual to have easy access to vitamins and nutritional supplements from store shelves, while ensuring people had access to honest information, responsible use, recommended dosages, and truthful claims without exaggerated promises.

• I defended the freedom of every individual to make their own informed and educated choices about their health and choose a natural approach to supporting their wellbeing.

I believed then — and I still believe today — that every Australian, and people around the world, should have the freedom to make their own informed choices about their health.

I proudly defended those freedoms from the very beginning, and I won my case.

That belief has never changed.
